While shepherds watched their flocks .......

Goodness gracious its the 2nd of December and that can only mean 1 thing, yes its challenge time over at All Dressed Up! Take a look here! I have chosen to use this cute image called A Star is born... and I also chose to make a bridge card, not sure if that's the correct term but that's what I call these type of cards, they are my nearly favourite card style cos you can add layers if you use acetate, I made one of these live on Create and Craft last week!  And I dared to score the acetate live.... no stress there then.

Anyway pop over to the blog and add your creation or visit the etsy shop to buy your digi for Christmas, its not too late you know!

You could hide a secret message behind the front card, I like it... or a litte envelope with money in... yes please!

Thank you for visiting my bloglet. xxxxx

So cute - Inspirational post for ADU

Sooo cute, pointillism, go on, give it a go!

Here I have used the inspirational post for All Dressed Up to tell you all about Pointillism, and here is the Wikipedia explanation:

Pointillism /ˈpwɛntɨlɪzəm/ is a technique of painting in which small, distinct dots of pure color are applied in patterns to form an image.

I thought it might be fun to apply this method of colouring an image, and I am quite pleased with the result, the technique actually compliments the cute little image really well.  It probably took as long to do as "proper" colouring,  but give it a go, its fun!!

Thanks for visiting  Lizzy xxxx

Life is good

Hello my lovelies, so nice of you to stop by my little bloglet, today's project is for the fortnightly challenge over at That Craft Place, the theme is sentiment, and I have used one of Lisa's own stamps. They are fabulous stamps and worth a visit to Lisa's online facebook shop to take a look!

So here is my creation for this challenge, I have used the saying Life is good, and it so is for me at the moment, I love this colour scheme, I have used the paper pad from Kaisercraft called Forget Me Not. I love this paper pad, and have used it loads over the last couple of months. I have used some gorgeous wool felt in matching colours to make the flowers, tattered lace dies for the doily's and my Silhouette Cameo to cut the 2 background layers, and butterfly which I have gilded.  I hope you like it, I think it turned out ok!

Thanks for visiting. xxx

Autumn

Hello,  and eeeeeek I'm late, in my haste to get away for the weekend I forgot to upload my post for All Dressed Up!!!! However for those of you who are visiting after 5pm on the 2nd of November all of this is useless information!

Well here we are with another fabulous challenge over at All Dressed Up, and I am using a gorgeous image to create my wreath, which has now pride of place at my daughters house... well I am always looking for new homes for my makes, and my family are inundated with stuff from me!

I cut all the leaves and flowers on my fabulous Silhouette Cameo, and the graphics to make my photo was done on my Serif Craft Artist Professional, which is rather good!!

Thanks for stopping by,  and as I am away on my holidays I shall now tuck into fish'nchips!!

Witch you were here!

Good day crafty peeps!  Ah ha its halloween just around the corner and coincidentally thats the theme for this latest challenge over at That Craft Place.. yes anything spooky will do the trick!!   I have chosen this rather lovely digi, called teen witch, a beautiful Mo Manning image, she is so cute in a spooky sort of way.

I decided to put my Cameo to full use and cut a Pumpkin, just because I can,  and the lovely frame around my cutie witch is also cut from the Cameo. The papers are Papermania, which cut beautifully on the Cameo, the metal corners are from Lisa's shop.

So all in all a fun card to put together.

Thanks for stopping by, please leave a comment, and I shall know you have been xxxx

Flower power

Hello guys!  Thanks for stopping by for my Inspirational Post for All Dressed Up!  Don't you just love these cute little digi's, and its a pleasure to create a project using these images.

I really wanted to make this different, so I used a Silhouette cutting file to cut 2 cards, one in cream, one in blue, and stick them back to back, to get that lovely floral look.  When I coloured this digi in with my copics, I was on holiday, and only when I got home I realised it was far too big, so I scanned it and resized it, and now it sits perfectly on an 8x8 card. If you need any info about how I made any element of this card please leave me a message and I will get back to you.

Anyway here she is, one of the Autumn girls.

Chocci's for us!

It's a long story, I am meeting up with a good crafty buddy tomorrow, for a colouring class with the fabulous Clare Rowland!  Yes I know!!! Anyway my turn for chocolates, so I needed a box, like you do!  I have recently treated myself to some Tattered Lace dies, so I used the doily die and the leaf and floral die... so pretty, and perfect for chocolates. Anyway here is the box I made, hope you like it, personally I like it... especially with the chocci's in!!

I was also asked last week what my style is.... that got me thinking because I have never thought about that before, but I do like making practical things, more so now than cards, I do those anyway, but boxes, hangings, wreaths, the list goes on, but that is part of my style. I don't do pretty, I don't do grungy, I do my own thing, anyway thanks for stopping by Lizzy xx

Love - new digi!

Well what do think of this image? Not my colouring in but the line drawing? My partners daughter in law is a terrific artist, she normally draws Manga, but I saw this design as a sketch and asked her to make it into a line drawing for me! Hasn't she done well .... Needless to say I have asked her to do some more!!! If you like what you see leave me a comment. Thank you so much for stopping by xx

Tilda skating angel

Isn't she lovely! My lovely boss let me take a kit home to make up for the shop (Hobbycraft), she wasn't the easiest of things to make, turning through her arms was a bit tricky!  But I love how she turned out and is now in the store in Cambridge tied to a fixture for security!!! She will be coming home with me at some point.

Think pink!

How time flies by.... its challenge time again over at That Craft Place, and this time its all about PINK!  So get your thinking hat on and join in the fun,  you could win a wonderful prize from Lisa. I have used one of her (pack of 3) wooden bags to decorate.

I have used some very pink decopatch papers to cover it, and as I used Mod Podge it has sealed it too, with a nice glossy finish.  I have used a topper I made about a year ago, when I attended my first Copic colouring workshop and other than a frog this was my first attempt at colouring in,  I am rather proud of my efforts and have waited a long time to use it.  I'm not a magnolia sort of person, but she is cute, pink and just right for a bag.

The butterfly, pearls, and paper from Lisa's shop : That Craft Place.

So keeping everything nice and simple here it is:

It looks like she is shushing away the butterfly,  pure accident, but I rather like it!  Thank you for stopping by, I so appreciate your comments. xxx

Advent house

One of the joys of working at Hobbycraft is that you see stuff before everyone else, and when this little beauty arrived it didn't stand a chance of getting to the shelves!

Made from MDF it was calling out for a makeover, and thats just what I did. I love blue and white at Christmas, I never seem to be able to decorate my house in those colours, but these home decor type items are perfect.

I chose some lovely papers from Capture the Magic in Soham, such a great shop! And used stickles white lace to give a snow effect, bit of tea dye around the edges of the paper, and after 2 good coats of acrylic in blue and then white the edges were sanded back to distress it a bit.

The drawer fronts were cut on my cameo, with a little heart cut out of the middle so the bead didn't need to be taken off. I am rather pleased with my house, and for £15 at Hobbycraft its a steal!!

Thanks for stopping by xxxx

Daddy's little helper

Welcome to the first Challenge for All Dressed Up I am an official Dressy Girl... well the girl bit is a bit dubious, but hey I'll go with it!! Please visit her page, she is mega mega talented and her designs are fab u lous!!!

The first challenge is Anything goes, easy peasy, not too hard on the brain cells, so I'll do something simple, hey I DON'T think so!! I chose Daddy's Little Helper, and thought watering can... well yes not the first thing you would think of maybe, but thats how my brain goes sometimes!! He was printed and cut via my Silhouette, and on reflection I wish I had cut between his spade and body, but as you know I haven't had my Silhouette very long so still learning... but I love the result, I'm officially in love!!

 Here he is:

Don't you just love my new watermark?  Looks pretty cool to me, thats for sure!  I hope you like my design, he has been coloured with Copics, the watering can and plant pot were cut on my Silhouette, how clever is that machine, oh by the way call by Lisa's shop at That Craft Place coz she sells them, actually she has sold so many she is getting dizzy!!  Enjoy your day xxxx

Baby baby

Hello to you!  Yes its challenge time again at That Craft Place, and this time the theme is Baby.... so I chose to make a card and tag. The card is a "diaper" and an SVG file I purchased from The Cutting Cafe, its a good website for unusual things... the tag I free cut with scissors !! Why I chose to do that is beyond me. Anyway I used vintage notes papers from That Craft Place and a lovely digi baby from Meljen's designs. Her digi's are always fun to colour in.  I am quite pleased how this turned out, as I am still a newbie to the Cameo.

Have you noticed I changed the colour of my logo to match, quite like that too!  Thanks for stopping by xx

a bit of colouring, now what?

Hey guys, I'm on me 'olidays,  in sunny Sussex,  well it's been so hot, today is not so sunny but still very warm... I was thinking what I should do with this image below, I coloured her in a few weeks ago, and I really like her,  but I need a project to put her on,  give me some help and come up with some suggestions, and you could win what I make, and when I get home I shall get out my trusty Silhouette and get to work!

The Silhouette store currently has a 50% off their range of cutting files for cakes and cakey stuff, so maybe a box with her on?  I'm going to the store now to find something... if in the meantime you suggest something then I'll go with that!  The one I choose will win what I make!! Cool or what !  Happy days Lizzy xxxx

Candy Fairy

Now another fortnight has passed and its time for another challenge over at That Craft Place, this week it's things with wings,  ah ha, fairies and butterfly's the perfect combination!!!  The Paper Shelter has a fab little fairy call The Candy Fairy, she is perfect for my butterfly box, cut on the Cameo. She is coloured with my Copics of course and a little help from some coloursoft pencils,  but I rather like her,  the original box used another fairy from TPS but I only realised at the last minute she was Grumpy Fairy,  she is also very very cute but hardly the sort of thing to put on a candy gift box!!!!  Anyway I hope you like her,  I do, and I shall be giving this to my Mum for her 83rd birthday full of chocolaty things... yummy...

And this is Grumpy Fairy,  well I couldn't resist showing her off!! I am using her for something else,  so nothing wasted in my craftyland..

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful weekend. xx

Lily and Milly

You know when to spot a bargain, and you just have to have it.. well yesterday I popped into a local cheap store in Newmarket, and found a fab wooden distressed sign for £2!!! What!! Yes I had to have it,  it does have "Bathroom" in pink painted on the front, but hey we are crafters arn't we?  Not letting that get in the way... so I covered it, of course!  I used a lovely image from All Dressed Up, here is there Etsy page for the digital stamp I used I love my puppy. Take a look, the images are really cute. Anyway they have a DT call and I thought I might apply,  here is my sign... I've used Vintage notes papers, vinyl for the words, my Cameo cut out the bits and bobs, and the digi is coloured with Copics.

I hope you like it... Lily is my Granddaugher and Milly is my puppy, a match made in heaven... xxx

And just for fun I have entered into these challenges:

Fairy Tea

There are times when only fairies will do,  I love this image from The Paper Shelter, and as they are after new DT members I thought why not!  So I did this one especially, I used my Copics and Coloursoft pencils to colour it in, I made one of the background papers as a frame in Serif, and placed my finished card inside, I quite like the effect for the bloggie pic... now I can give this card to my beautiful Granddaughter Lily, who loves to craft and love fairies,  the perfect combination. Oh and I cut out some of the flowers to layer up, a bit of hybrid crafting never comes amiss me thinks.  Happy crafting peeps xxx

And if you love TPS then look out for my blog post on Sunday for That Craft Place,  I use the Candy Fairy, I say no more! xxx

This little image at the side shows the card before I put it in the digital frame,  it gives a much better and clearer pic of my colouring and design.

Bird song

Good morning crafty peeps, and yes another fortnight has flown by (excuse the pun) and it's challenge time over at That Craft Place. The theme this week is music, and for what ever reason only known to someone else I chose to make a bird hanging... there were times that I wished I had made a card, anything other than my bird hanging. As it happens I quite like it,  and the actual hanging in real life is ok!  It's about 30 inches long, with dangly jewellery bits... another story, needless to say I am enrolling on a jewellery making course for beginners!

I cut the birds on my Cammy, and the fabric too. I stuck together 2 birds so it can hang and twist etc and looks the same from both sides. The Cammy cut the fabric beautifully I have to add. I used the remaining fabric to make flowers... Kusudama style. I then used beads, chains and buttons to finish it off.

I hope you like it too!  Thank you for visiting my blog. Please leave a comment so I know you have been.xxx

And all that Jam.... better than Jazz!

Good Sunday to you all, and another challenge over at That Craft Place, whose design team seems to be breeding like rabbits, so many of us now I can't keep up!  The wonderful team have created the most outrageously super projects for us all to have a nosy at, and try to emulate!  Here is mine, I used the Molly Blooms latest project kit, available from Lisa's shop to give me inspiration. I shall explain further down how I managed to use the Cameo too!

The pic above shows the 2 projects I made,  the little meander book made from 1 12x12 sheet of cardstock, filled with tags for pictures and the words you may wish to add. The ribbon is from Lisa, but the papers are Molly blooms,  I scanned the papers before cutting into them, and added them into my digital papers in the Silhouette Designer software, now I can use them anytime to create a Molly Blooms look a like, I'm sure Clare won't mind,  and I shall ask her permission when I see her next week. Fingers crossed she is ok about it.  I have decorated the book with buttons from the kit too.
All the pages in the book have machined stitched layers, quite tricky to do.

The little inset picture is of the back of the projects, I love the jar especially. I used Molly Blooms and my Spellbinders dies to make them pretty.

I have been asked how I do my pictures so neatly, well I use Serif, Craft Artist 2, various background papers and frames, with a muted edge always works a treat, I couldn't make it look so good without this programme, highly recommend.

Don't you just love Molly,  she is a grown up girl now in real life, but to Clare she can always be recreated as a pretty little girl! How I wish I could do that with my two girls!!!! The strawberries, Molly, cake, heart, flowers and leaves are from the free stamps inside the kit.  The label is from the Silhouette shop. The pretty jar is now on display at Hobbycraft Cambridge, where I work.

Thank you for looking at my little bloggie, I love that you visit me, please leave a comment, so I know you have been. I am going to enter this into some challenges. I shall list them as I go.  Have a great weekend. Lizzy xxxx

With Love

Don't you just love Saturated Canary, and I particularly like this little digi, she reminds me of my Granddaughter Lily, and the sort of capers she could get up to, and still look like butter wouldn't melt!  I love these papers from Raspberry Road too, such jolly colours! I've kept this one quite simple for me,  not too much over the top stuff, which of course I love to do,  I just needed to make a card, just for me!

Thank you for visiting my little bloggie. xxx

Boxing clever

Oh my goodness its challenge time at That Craft Place!  It comes around so quickly, but this time I really enjoyed using my Silhouette Cameo by making a box and decorating it using a super Saturated Canary image. All the products used can be bought from Lisa's super shop, and if you are in the area go visit her, its right near the seaside too! Bonus!!

The theme this time is monochrome, which doesn't have to be black and white, but any colour and shades thereof, so I chose brown, it gave me a sepia sort of look, which I love. Coloured with Copics.

Thank you for stopping by, I so appreciate it, and love to see a comment or two. Welcome also to my new followers, thank you so much xxxx

Snowy day and a Magnum!

So I'm relaxing in my motorhome, taking in the rays, so to speak when I remembered I made this card to show off Lisa's products from That Craft Place!  You know like you do when the sun gets too hot, you think of snow!  NOT!  Anyway I thought I would share this one with you lovely people, it uses a SC proper rubber stamp,  its something I don't often do, use a proper one, its usually a digi, I like to be in control of the size, hmmm maybe I should apply that rule to myself, having just had another Magnum!

Coloured with Copics and using the new Papermania A5 paper set, which I have to say is fabulous quality and rather lovely colours.

Thank you for visiting my little bloglet, I so appreciate your time with me xxxx

Just one more swing...

Oh my goodness its challenge time again at That Craft Place, and the theme is GIRLS.. easy peasy!  It doesn't seem like a fortnight ago when I blogged for the last challenge, however I really enjoyed doing this card cos I have my new Silhouette Cameo!! The image, doily, fence, flowers and leaves were cut out with the Cammy, the digi is from an artist who works alongside Kraftin Kimmie, her name is Sassy Cheryl and her work is fabulous!! I especially loved this little girlie, she reminds me of my granddaughter Lily who spends most of her time on her swing, and will not be parted from it! I used my Copics to colour in.

Thanks for stopping by my little bloggie xxx

Birthday card

One of my colleagues at work is 40 on Wednesday and I felt the need to give her a special card, 'cos I remember 40 like it was yesterday..... or was it the day before!! Memory is a great gift, I just wish I could remember where I put it... anyway here is the card, using a lovely SC image, so pretty and looks a bit like her... Bo Bunny papers, bits and bobs cut on my new Silhouette Cameo, such fun!  I think a better investment than the Cricut Imagine, at least I get to choose what I want to print and cut..

Not the best of photo's as it was taken on my phone, don't think I'll do that again, just not the same quality... anyway thank you so much for visiting my little blog xxxx

Ribbon & Lace

It's challenge time at That Craft Place, and the challenge this time is Ribbon and Lace, lovely, my favourite things to craft with!  I went for blue and white again, and I have promised not to do these colours again for a while,  but I just had to this time.  All the products I used are available from Lisa's shop,  go check it out, she has some fabulous things, and we have a new Facebook page for inspiration ( I intend to do a tutorial to show how to make the lace flower on my card) and a good old natter.  What are you waiting for?

Thank you for visiting my little bloggie, please call again soon. Lizzy xxxxx

Its challenge time at Mayzy Art - "Anything but a card"

I have used Seafoam the Mermaid - Digital Stamp for my picture frame,  this is my favourite photo of me and my eldest daughter taken about 25 years ago, on one of our family holidays to Majorca.. such a fun and magical time, and this is a photo I have treasured all that time, and so many house moves inbetween!  I used a photo frame ready to decorate, similar to a decopatch item. I coated it in white gesso and then applied layers of acrylic paint to give it a seaside distress sort of look.

The shells I picked up on holiday recently in Weymouth, and I knew they would be perfect for this holiday photo..... I used Marianne dies for the birds and Doo Hickey dies for the tags,  so simple to make and the finishing touch is Seafoam, well it just had to be done!

Hope you enjoyed your visit to my blog! xx

Its challenge time at That Craft Place - Flowers

I wonder why I thought of Christmas when I needed to make this card for the wonderful design team at That Craft Place!  But I did, and the colours of blue and white seemed just right....

The background is a digital lace image from Digital Design Boutique, which was overlaid onto a backing paper, I always use Serif to present my cards etc and it works so well, its so versitile... I also used the Le Crea Multi dies, flowers, such a fab set of dies, the vine is from Die namics.... spellbinders stately circle and a background paper from Raspberry Road. Thanks for visiting my blog, please leave a comment I would love to hear from you! xx
