Aqua, clean and simple

Aqua clean and simple. I found it quite difficult for me to keep this simple, I'm not sure I do clean and simple, I tend to embellish things so there is no more room to embellish!  So this was a really good challenge for me to keep it "bare".  I found the blog simply less is moore  and thought the challenge of Aqua a good one for a snowy day in Suffolk. Yuk! I loath the stuff. I used papers from the Forever Friends black and gold collection,  which I changed to aqua tones,  and printed a 2nd sheet for my layer and flower where the transparency had been taken down by 50% thereabouts. I cut the flower from my Flower Shoppe cricut cartridge, and the band was made using 2 ribbons and fusing together on my Gypsy this was made using the Ribbons and Rosettes cartridge, very useful! The sentiment was computer generated onto safmat, which if cut with fancy edge scissors and burnished becomes almost undetectable. So actually I rather liked the end result, clean and simple. xx

  1. Hi Lizzy and a very warm welcome to "Less is More"
It's interesting to read how one who favours high;y embellished cards, wanted to even try a CAS one. Am touched you wanted to!
True CAS is minimal layers and plenty of white space. Ig we had made your card we'd not have added the floral paper or probably not the matt under he white square..shock horror lol
We'd be delighted for you to join us every week and, as others have found, become more comfortable with CAS designs
Glad you found us and have enjoyed looking at everyone blogs
    Thanks so much

  2. Such a pretty flower and that backing paper looks fab in the aqua, I have the black & gold cd and have never thought about changing the colour :)

  3. I love the flower, is very beautiful card

  4. Hi Lizzy,
    Welcome to "Less is More"!
It must be a bit of a shock to the system to try a CAS card if you're used to much embellishment. Well done you.
As Mandi has said we don't use lots of layers and have areas with no decoration at all on the card... which must be odd to you, but I'm sure you'll get used to it in no time.
Thanks so much and do join us again next time.

If you could remove the Word Verification from your blog that would be great. Thanks.

  5. Hi Mandi and Chrissie, thank you for your feedback, yes it will take me sometime to get used to CAS, it's going to be my own challenge...I never would have thought about leaving white areas ...eeeek! or no layers, double eeek, but I'm going to give it a go! lol thanks again. xxx

  6. Love the backing paper and flower, lovely card xxx
